For Parents

Often parents feel that children are wasting their time playing on tablets and mobile phones. The same is true for videogames in general – they are viewed as playful distractions; something fun but lacking in value. But with Create@School, phones and tablets become tools, and videogames are for more than just playing!

Create@School allows students as young as 8 years old to create and play their own puzzle, strategy and adventure games, digital books, animations, and much more all directly on their mobile devices. Young people can develop programs based on their favourite videogames, becoming game-makers, giving them the skills to master programming techniques, which build confidence, co-operation and engagement in the classroom allowing them to create their own material for school projects in a creative way.

Create@School allows children to create and use virtual worlds to create scenarios for literature, maths or physics etc, using the colours, characters, backgrounds, voices or sounds of their choice, having as many characters as they would like. Developing their creativity as well as new skills, such as coding and computational thinking.

Create@School is used by teachers (link) and students (link) to work and make projects in classes, supporting deeper learning and the ability to transfer knowledge to new situations by learning how to program.
